Why

by Trinity Rayne

Everyday i ask myself some reasons why
I ask myself the cause of depression and what makes people cry
Everyday i ask myself why things are the way they are
Everyday i ask myself the purpose of a shining star
I ask myself why the oceans and skies seem to stretch on and on
I ask myself why our loved ones will one day be dead and gone
I ask myself why the world these days is under so much stress
I ask myself why times have changed and were all under duress
I ask myself why people drift apart with nothing else to say
I ask myself why the hair on our heads go gray
I ask myself and wonder why there is a victim being bullied by a jerk
I ask myself and wonder why some things just don't work
I ask myself why people do the things they do
I ask myself why and wonder if others like me wonder why too

I Am Everyone

by Margaret

I am He, I am She, I am It, I am Androgyny. I am Black, I am White, I am German, Scottish, Irish, Greek, English, Native American Indian--American?

I have fought more wars than I even want to remember. I have been a great warrior, I have been a great knight. I have died in a bunker, I have died in rice patties. I have killed and been killed. This time.....I came in peace, laid down my weapons to teach love, kindness, compassion. honesty, non-judgement.
I am hypersensitive, not understanding the ignorance, hypocrisy, self righteousness, judgement, and at the same time seeing these in myself. Eager to learn and teach.

I am straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, pan gender, a homo,-call me what you want-I AM PROUD!! I am everyone. I don't understand the labels-issues.

I am ecstasy, I am depression, I feel the pain of everyone! I fought and forced myself not to feel people's pain/my pain. I had to learn to see differently, that we are all okay in our agony and all on the journey we are meant to be on.
I am an old soul! I am tired! I need caring arms to fold around me so that I can rest, so I can go home.

Committee Management

by Laura Howat

Order! Order! Standing on a chair, she cried.
Struggling to gain control of the committee, she tried.
The accountant rocked back and forth muttering,
Have to follow the budget, spreadsheets, rules, debits and credits stuttering.
The athlete jogged in place then struck a power pose.
Wake up you’re going comatose.
Let’s blow this joint. Get some sunshine and fresh air.
Go deep and hard forget this stuff. Swear!
The nature girl twirled, Let’s go for a mountain walk, change of scenery.
Chant “ohms”, flowing water, butterflies, wildflowers, calming greenery.
The drama queen stomped and raged.
Mistake to sit her next to the abandoned teen, now they had a stage.
Stop cowering girl! You’re not invisible! You matter!
The teen balled her fists and screamed. Abused! Ignored! Left! Now shattered.
The artist turned away, went internal.
Dug out her notebook, started to journal.

The executive sat quietly until the melee faded.
Took a deep breath and persuaded.
We fight all the time. It’s a tragedy.
Can’t we find common ground? Live in harmony?
Every day we argue and get tangled.
The conflict leaves me mangled.
And because you all live in my brain,
we need to go forward together without causing a migraine.
