Slowly but Surely

by Trinity Rayne

What made you think you had the right to take my heart and break it jab after jab
What made you think you had the right to sneak behind my back stealthily with a knife to stab
Because of you I've ended up scared in my shell like an old hermit crab
Slowly but surely my mental wounds heal and scab
What made you think you had the right to push me around
What made you think you had the right to sink me in your misery until I drowned
Because of you and the pain you caused i feel that im still bound
Slowly but surely my true self will one day be found
What made you think you had the right to say you loved me but drove me away instead
What made you think you had the right to make me cry many tears that i have shed
Because of you i felt like i was hanging on by a thread
Slowly but surely my thinking is becoming more clear inside my head
What made you think you had the right to make me feel down and low
What made you think you had the right to crush my dreams with a blow
Because of you i feel there's answers I'll never know
Slowly but surely like a flower i will bloom and grow
Slow and steady wins the race
I will heal and feel better at my own pace
Maybe ill forgive you overtime with space
Slowly but surely my true self I'll hug come home to and embrace
Slowly but surely im almost here
Slowly but surely I get better day by day then itll be year by year
Slowly but surely my healed self is getting near
Slowly but surely your karma will appear
Slowly but surely you'll end up alone
Slowly but surely you'll be on your own
Slowly but surely your cover will be blown
Slowly but surely while all that's your case I'll be healed and grown
