Unkind

by Trinity Rayne

After the trauma you went through how can you be heartless and unkind
It has defined you because you let it and you won't leave it behind
If it stays with you happiness you won't find
Can't you see the need to heal your hurt heart and mind
The damage made you into a monster with no compassion or empathy
You are trapped within your pain never feeling free
I try to understand you even when you've hurt me
Are you so blind to it all and just don't see
Do you hurt others to make yourself feel good
Do you give unwanted opinions because you've always felt unheard or misunderstood
Are you this way because things weren't as they should
I believe you are this way because of your traumatic childhood
I realize who you are underneath that ugly mask
I am left with no answers and only questions to ask
Do you hurt others along with me as you gain pleasure and bask
Was it ever worth it when you were getting drunk on attention from me as your flask
Why do you have no remorse
Why do you stay this way and not change your course
Why do you feel superior to others and can't get off your high horse
I am tired of being your possession and your energy source
The moment i decide to walk away you want to reel me back in
Why is it that I only lose and you always win
All you are is a wolf in sheep's skin
What damage you do to me and others should be a sin
Why do you do what you do and are the way you are
You will continue to be unkind to those you meet if you dont heal your emotional scar
I believe you chose to be this way and harden your heart that's black as tar
As long as you are this way I have to say goodbye to you and love you from afar
After the trauma you went through I opened my eyes and realize you're heartless and unkind
Even though I did love you I now love myself more and see my worth as I leave you behind
I realize it is my own happiness I need to search for and find
As i repair and fix my own damage only i can heal my hurt heart and mind
