Predator and Prey

by Trinity Rayne

You are the tiger and I am the scapegoat
You sneak up on me and grab me by my throat
You are the wolf in sheepskin and I’m the black sheep
You lead me to the slaughter with empty promises you couldn’t keep
You are the bear and I am the fish
I want to be strong against you that is my one wish
You are the predator and I am the prey
You hunt me down until I submit and obey
You depend too much on me
You need my endless supply of energy
This is not what I wanted and not what I choose
I won’t back down and give in to you because i refuse
You are the spider and I am the fly
You trap me in the web you spun with each little lie
You are the shark and I am the seal
You devour me without caring how i feel
You are the cat and I am the bird
You silence me and make sure i don’t say a word
You are the predator and I am the prey
I will stand up to you and fight you someday
You depend too much on me
I know someday I’ll break free
This is not the life I chose and asked for
I know in my eyes I’m worth so much more
You are the cheetah and I’m the wildebeest
Why do you prove youre best and I’m the least
You are the snake and I am the mouse
Why must you prove youre the strongest in the house
You are the fox and i am the rabbit
I’m ready to break this type of thinking because it’s become a bad habit
You have to prove youre better and go in for the kill
Since i was born I have been stubborn with a strong will
There will be a time when you will be confronted
Sometimes the hunter becomes the hunted
There will be a time when i will prevail
Sometimes the prey isn’t so easily frail
There will be a time where i will get away
Sometimes the predator isn’t stronger than the prey
